2022 Annual Meeting

Photos & reports from our annual meeting & potluck held May 18, 2022.

We gathered for our annual meeting and potluck at Halibut Point Recreation Area on May 18th. We were so excited to meet again in-person after two years of online meetings due to COVID precautions. The food was great and we were so happy to see a good showing of students & families.

Board President Willow Moore thanked two students for their volunteerism. Both students had donated more than six hours of their time over many classes helping their siblings & younger peers learn karate.

In addition to re-electing three current board members, we also brought on Brooke Rivera as the new treasurer. Brooke works as an Accounting Secretary at Sitka School District and is highly qualified to take on this role. KKS is still seeking a Board Vice President – if you are interested in volunteering on the board, please contact us for details.

Some new changes for summer & fall, which are detailed in the annual meeting packet include:

• Squad Locker – New store launched for karate merchandise

• Rate Changes – Going into effect August 15 for tuition & after the next restock order for gear

• Summer Camps & Seminars – Introduction to Bo Staff, Little Dragons Mini Camp, Rank Up Camp
